obile Apps Skyfire on More Android Devices, Marks 1 Million Downloads

Skyfire for Android seems set to become one of the most popular mobile browsers out there, and the fact that it already reached the one million downloads mark is a great step in this direction.

The application was made available for devices powered by Google's Android operating system not too long ago, and the company has just announced reaching the aforementioned milestone.

“Android users want the best of the Internet, which means all their favorite websites and videos. This is why now over one million consumers have downloaded mobile browser Skyfire that optimizes Flash video content and brings it to Android devices worldwide,” the company announced.

In addition to becoming one of the most popular applications for the Android operating system, the Skyfire browser has added support for more mobile phones based on Google's mobile OS.

“Now the browser works on popular Android devices such as the Samsung Galaxy, Samsung Epic, Motorola Droid X and Droid 2, HTC Incredible and EVO 4G,” its makers stated.

The mobile browser can be used on the latest Android 2.2 operating system flavor to offer users fast access to Flash content, no matter the network connectivity on which one is using the device.

Not to mention that the application would offer access to the same content to users of mobile phones without the new Android 2.2 OS version on board.

“Skyfire for Android took mobile browsing to a new level with the addition of the SkyBar, a cloud-enabled toolbar that lets users enjoy millions of videos previously unavailable on mobile, discover the latest buzz on any topic they browse, and easily share content to their social networks,” Skyfire announced.

The development team is constantly working on upgrading the mobile browser so that it would provide users with an enhanced experience at all times.

According to Skyfire, its software solution comes with advanced cloud computing technology to support the aforementioned features and to reduce the mobile video data consumption by around 75 percent.

This represents a great advantage for carriers as well, since they can offload their networks and offer faster speeds to customers.
